Kay K. Runge is a library building and funding consultant and an experienced professional  public library administrator.  She served as director of the Des Moines (IA) Public Library , Davenport  (IA) Public Libraryand the Scott County Library System (IA)  Her extensive experience in planning library facilities  include the $33 million  new Central library building in Des Moines, $6 million  renovation/additions for 4 branch libraries in Des Moines  and  $1 million renovation of a Special Collections/Genealogy  Department at the main Library and the design of  a Branch Library in Davenport. Kay served as President of the Public Library Association in 2000.   Kay has been a guest lecturer at the University of Iowa Library School and serves  on the University's Library School Advisory Board.  Her community work has  included:  Wells Fargo Bank Board, Rotary Clubs of Des Moines and Davenport,  Des Moines and Davenport Public Library Foundation Boards, Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and Leadership Iowa, Downtown Development Corporation Boards of Des Moines and Davenport. Other involvement  includes: Iowa State University Foundation Board of Governors  and Alumni Board and Iowa State University  College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Advisory Board, Chair of the  Iowa Public Radio Board of Directors, Chair of the Kaplan University Board of Trustees, and  elected councilor to the American Library Association.  Her expertise is in library buildings, management and fundraising.  Her email is: kkrunge@libraryconsulting.org

Lynn Barnhouse (email lynn@barnhouseoffice.com)

Space planner and interior designer for libraries since 1984.  Lynn has provided planning and design services for more than 35 public and academic libraries in the US. She is adept at working within financial constraints and has experience with new construction, remodeling and renovation projects large and small. Lynn is a Certified Interior Designer in the state of Minnesota.

Other important areas of experience are:

·    Planning and specifying automated book handling systems

·    Extensive knowledge of library furniture and equipment

·    Understands library operations and plans efficient workrooms, service desks and collection areas

·    Involved from inception to completion with various architectural firms on library projects

·    LEED AP

John Bielinski  (jsbielinski@gmail.com)

Ph.D. statistician and evaluator with 15+ years experience conducting educational research, developing educational assessments, and evaluating programs.   Former test development director at Pearson responsible for all phases of development from concept formation through manual development and publication.  Current private consultant providing statistical analysis and program evaluation services to a variety of clients and organizations.   Specific expertise includes:

Gretchen Wronka (send an email)

  Experienced Library professional in planning library services, staffing and spaces with particular specialization in Youth Services.    Currently coordinates youth services and outreach services in the 26 branches of the Hennepin County Library (MN) system which is consistently ranked among the leading public libraries in the US.  Her work has included overseeing operations of a Readmobile that visits family childcare providers and early childhood development sites; directs extensive outreach services to nursing homes and correctional facilities, mail services to homebound and targeted services to new immigrants.  Past-President of the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association and member of many state and national councils relating to youth services including the MN   Governor’s Council on Reading Excellence,  University of Minnesota’s Advisory Council to the Center for Early Education and Development Early Literacy Training Project, .University of Minnesota Consortium for Children, Youth and Families, the Minnesota Council for Children, Youth and Families and the Advisory Council to the Office of Library Development and Services  Past  President , Legislative Chair, and Chapter Councilor of the Minnesota Library Association (MLA).
